Dear Friends in Christ Jesus,

We are still seeking volunteers to help out at this Saturday’s Pet Blessing event. Specifically, people to help with set-up around 9am, clean-up around 2pm, help preparing the volunteer lunch, and folks to man the greeters’ table… especially Noon – 2pm.

If you can help please contact Chris Fish at bosox1903[at]yahoo.com.

This coming week the Tuesday and Wednesday noon services as well as the Tuesday Bible studies are cancelled due to the Rector being out of town.

Bishop Lerow arrives Sunday week 14 October for his annual visitation. There will be a combined service at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the parish hall. As usual we will also have a 7:45 a.m. service, but all are urged to attend the episcopal service except for grave necessity.

If you want to be received or need to be confirmed or baptized contact me as soon as possible at (703) 963-9616 to make arrangements.

We are using this visitation as an evangelical outreach also. We have sent out the message below to the military community in the DC area. If you know of any military families, active duty or retired, please forward the message to them. The message follows:

“On Sunday 14 October 2012 at 1000 hours our new military prelate for the Armed Forces, Donald F. Lerow, Chaplain Corps, Captain (ret.) USN will conduct a service at St. Andrew and St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church. A reception follows in the parish hall.

The parish would like to invite military members and their families and other interested people to both the service and the reception for Bishop Lerow. St.s Andrew and Margaret parish is a military friendly community and the congregation consists of many active duty and retired military personnel and their families. The parish is located at 402 East Monroe Ave. Alexandria, Virginia 22301. Our phone numbers are;

Office: (703) 683-3343

Please come and join us in meeting our new bishop for the Armed Forces.

For additional information please call The Rev. (LTC) John Roddy at (703) 963-9616.”
