Mid-19th Century Fest for All, especially Christian and other families Crafts, games and skills: tying sailors’ knots, navigating by stars, and soldiers’ drills. Oral history about ancestors, including a blockade runner, the first Southern national martyr, Alexandria families and more. Stories about displayed artifacts: an inscribed Union sword with a bullet nick, political cartoons and photos from London, a family quilt and a chunk of a sunken ship. People in 19c. attire. Harp music. Best for students in grade 4 and above. Free.
